Meet The Team

Devin May
Devin May is an actor, director, and educator who has worked with theatres in Indiana, Kentucky, Chicago, Boston, and D.C. He recently performed with Constellation Stage & Screen in The Wizard of Oz (Tinman), The True Story of the Three Little Pigs (Rocky, et al.), and The Importance of Being Earnest (Jack). His favorite role to date was in Super Richard World III (King Mario, Mayor Toad, Lord Diddy Kong), a Shakespeare-Super Mario mashup by Chicago’s Otherworld Theatre that landed on the Chicago Reader’s “Best Plays of 2019” list. In the Bloomington community, Devin has directed The Comedy of Errors and Henry IV, part 1 for Monroe County Civic Theatre, as well as The Little Mermaid Jr. and The Laramie Project for Stages Bloomington. In 2018, he participated in a new works directing intensive at the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C., where he assistant-directing a workshop production of You Must Wear a Hat by Courtney Meaker. Devin teaches drama classes at Fairview Elementary and frequently leads camps and classes for Constellation. During the 2019-20 school year, he worked as a teaching artist with the Kentucky Shakespeare Festival, traveling the state to perform Shakespeare in rural communities and engaging learners of all ages and abilities.

A proud Bloomington native and IU Theatre alum, Devin is passionate about supporting Bloomington's next generation of young performers by creating opportunities for them to achieve success. He is thrilled to bring BloomingArts to life alongside his longtime friend and collaborator Callie Rekas!

Callie Rekas
Callie Rekas is a Bloomington townie and could not be more thrilled to offer the young artists of her hometown a professional training ground. After completing her B.A. in Theatre & Drama from IU, she earned her M.A. in Dance Education with an emphasis in Ballet Pedagogy at NYU, and is currently pursuing her PhD in Arts Education at IU. Since moving back to start her PhD in the fall of 2023, Callie has choreographed for Constellation Stage & Screen, Bloomington High School North, Bloomington High School South, and Stages.
Callie is a member of SAG-AFTRA, a committee member and frequent presenter for the National Dance Education Organization, serves on the City of Bloomington’s Commission on the Status of Children and Youth, and is fully certified to teach the American Ballet Theatre’s National Training Curriculum (Pre-Primary-Level 7). She has taught dance at Interlochen Arts Academy, American Youth Dance Theatre, the JKO School, and more. Callie is passionate about combining strong technique with artistry, and hopes to foster a unique artistic identity in each of her students.
